Many people ask us the same basic questions about our homes. To give you a little head start before you come
visit us, we have compiled a list of these questions and answers. Of course, we'll be happy to answer your specific
questions any time that it's convenient for you.
• What is the difference between a mobile home and a modular home?
There are a lot of differences between the two, but the biggest is a modular is designed to sit on a foundation. Modulars
are built to a different set of codes than a mobile home. Modulars are built to the B.O.C.A. code and mobiles are built to
the H.U.D. code. Hopefully, most stick built houses should be built to the B.O.C.A. code.
• What about delivery and setup?
Delivery and set-up is always included in the price of our homes. We also include one set of fiberglass steps and a vinyl skirting kit.
• What if we’re interested in designing our own home?
Custom designing is available in all modular homes. Several of the mobile home manufactures will allow you to make
changes in their floor plans. Burlington Homes of Maine will allow you to completely design a single or
doublewide H.U.D. code home.
• What about delivery from the time we order our home?
Generally, production will take about 6-8 weeks. During that time you will have your contractors doing the site work, foundation, etc.
• Can you assist us with financing?
Yes, we deal with all the major lenders in our industry. We also have excellent relationships with local lenders in Maine. Many
lenders can arrange financing with as little as 5% down, or you can use the equity in you land for your down payment.
